Our first shop in Arkville NY. 1986

Lone Bird Studio was born in 1979. Back then, I was an artist. From April through September each year I traveled up and down the east cost doing shows.
In 1986 in an effort to expand I retrained in commercial graphics and marketing.
The computer bug first bit me back in 1982 with my first cassette driven Radio Shack computer.
1986 saw our first "shop". It was also the year I took in my first commercial work. The stone was now cast. Lone
Bird has been helping business ever since.
My artistic side grew also. I took some of my designs and turned them into t-shirts.
T-shirts led to mailing lists and catalogs which lead to computers.
From that point computers intergraded right into our daily production life. We did everything from type setting to outdoor advertising.

Over time our client list grew, our services expanded and we moved into our second larger Arkville shop. This shop
included a screen printing section, a sign shop, Garages out back for truck lettering and custom vehicle paint.
We also had a paint unit for outdoor billboards.
Our layout, marketing, and production included print media, radio and outdoor. Our client list included names like
Matthew Outdoor, Hagen Daze, Howard Johnson's, and McDonalds. We also worked with local, county governments on
various projects including New York State Matching Funds tourism campaigns.
Also, at this time computer technology had made a huge leap forward and I could see the writing on the wall. 1996
is when I began my web training and the training has never stopped. I registered our domain the spring of 1996 and
Lonebird.com went live shortly after. At that time there were only 700,000 sites worldwide. (PC Mag.). Then, as
now, we are years ahead of our competition.
Spring of '96 was also the time I finalized plans to move to North Carolina and we opened our doors for business
in Woodfin NC in September of that same year. The move brought some big changes. I sold off the sign and screeprinting
shops and concentrated on the new computer world.

In 2000 I went back to school for my network and Microsoft certifications. I delved deeper into web design and web
marketing and have been at it ever since.
I believe that it is this mix of graphic skills and marketing experience combined with the possibilities offered
by this new wave of technology that gives me the edge you need. Anyone can buy software and turn out a canned site.
But today's crop of "Front Page or Dream weaver" developers don't have the depth of experience that I have. And
I can put this to work for you.
